Technology Development Program

Excited about the latest technologies?

We are, too. Our desire to dig our hands into everything new about the tech field led us to create our Technology Development Program. As a part of GEICO's TDP, associates choose one of three tracks in our IT department to become fully immersed in the world that track has to offer. We like to think GEICO's a technology company that sells insurance –and our TDP makes sure of that. We make sure your knowledge is right at the bleeding edge by including you in our in-house GEICO University, as well as setting you up with mentorship from management. New classes of the Technology Development Program start in January and June, so apply soon!

Find the track that fits you:

  • Software Development Track – Dive directly into coding, creating, and refining applications that serve both GEICO associates and customers alike; you'll improve customer experience while making GEICO associates more efficient.
  • Analyst Track – Sharpen your technical skills by analyzing business scenarios and customer needs to manage projects and create solutions that lead to the development and improvement of some of GEICO's business applications, including the Webby Award-winning GEICO Mobile App.
  • Infrastructure Track – Learn the ins and outs of how our multi-billion dollar company is using cutting-edge technologies by supporting software and firmware upgrades, as well as improving our best practices through design and architecture reviews.

Veterans IT Program

Since GEICO started in 1936, we have always looked for new ways to support the men and women of our Armed Forces. Our Veterans IT Program was designed with this in mind to help current and former members of the military find a thriving career using the technical skills gained during their service. This exclusive one-year program is designed to provide vets with the skills and experience required to become a high-ranking software development professional. New recruits start in March, so act quickly to join our ranks!

Two Programs—Unlimited Possibilities

GEICO's Technology Programs are your first step toward building a rewarding career. If you are naturally curious and driven to be the best, there are no limits to the opportunities for you to advance. We're devoted to developing you from the ground up to make you among the best of the best.

When applying to either program, please upload your resume, cover letter and transcripts, preferably as Word documents or PDFs.

Emerging Leader Derek

Rob – Technology Development Program

Associate since 2015

How has GEICO supported the direction you have taken in your job or career?

The company's supported me by putting me on important and innovative projects, even when I was new to the company. GEICO is my first job out of college, but I've been trusted with a lot which has helped me grow professionally.

What's the best part about your current role?

The best part has to be working on a team that manages an application with IBM Watson, a trendy piece of technology that's being used for many innovative things in the world.

Joanna – Technology Development Program

Associate since 2015

How has GEICO supported the direction you have taken in your job or career?

Something unique about GEICO is how strongly they believe in promoting from within and helping each associate reach their personal career goals. My current goal is to eventually become a senior level developer and maybe someday take on a leadership role. Not only do I have both of these opportunities at GEICO, but my direct management has helped me figure out the steps I need to take to reach these goals.

What's the best part about your current role?

The technology I get to work with is exciting, especially on an enterprise level. The most rewarding thing about my job is actually getting to impact customers. I am currently working on the customer facing sales application which is used by millions of customers. If I add a feature or remove a bug, I am hopefully improving the experience of someone looking to buy car insurance!
