  • What is DriveEasy Pro?

    DriveEasy Pro is our telematics programs for commercial auto insurance customers. Designed for small businesses, DriveEasy Pro supports safe driving and promotes fleet safety. Depending on the program you enroll in, you'll get access to a suite of benefits that give you and your drivers more visibility into driving behaviors, enhanced claims defense, and personalized rates based on actual driving experience.

  • What are the different DriveEasy Pro programs? Which do I qualify for?

    We have two DriveEasy Pro programs:

    • DriveEasy Pro App + Tag, designed for commercial auto customers, uses a free mobile app and a free physical tag to measure safe driving behaviors and provide a personalized rate at your policy renewal. The app gives you insight into the safe driving patterns and behaviors of you and your drivers and offers safe driving tips. A tag is sent for each of your participating vehicles and makes it easy to identify which vehicle you're driving.
    • DriveEasy Pro Dashcam, designed for trucking customers, equips each of your qualified vehicles with a no-cost road-facing dashcam that helps protect your fleet. The dashcam records video proof to help resolve claims quickly and protects driver privacy with a camera that watches the road and not the cabin.

    Program qualification is based on your specific business and insurance needs. Generally speaking, businesses that have heavy trucks with a wide operating radius qualify for DriveEasy Pro Dashcam.

  • How does DriveEasy Pro App + Tag work?

    DriveEasy Pro App + Tag is a combination of a mobile app and a physical tag.

    The DriveEasy Pro app is a smartphone app that uses phone sensors to provide personalized driving scores and driving tips based on your individual driving patterns. The app measures your driving while you are on a trip, including:

    • Distracted driving
    • Speeding
    • Hard braking
    • Cornering
    • Acceleration

    The DriveEasy Pro tag identifies the business vehicle and only collects the trip data from that vehicle.

    Your fleet safety is our primary concern.

  • How is my driving score calculated?

    We utilize a variety of driving factors to calculate your driving score, which will be used to determine your personalized rate at renewal. These factors include:

    • Distracted driving
    • Speeding
    • Hard braking
    • Cornering
    • Acceleration

    You will be able to see your score and details right in the DriveEasy Pro app after you start driving. The highest driving score is 100.

  • How do I receive the DriveEasy Pro tag?

    We will deliver the tags to you for each of your covered vehicles within 2-3 business days of your policy purchase.

  • Do I need to actively run the DriveEasy Pro app while driving?

    No, you will not need to log in and out of the app. Once you are registered and logged in, the app will sync to the tag. The app and tag will detect the business trips in the background, and you can safely stay focused on the road.

  • Why isn't the DriveEasy Pro app logging trips?

    Here are some issues to check:

    • Is the app installed and up to date?
    • Are you logged in to the app?
    • Is the phone's Bluetooth turned ON?
    • Is the app's Location permission enabled and set to Always?
    • Is the app's Motion & Fitness (iPhone) or Physical activity (Android) permission enabled?
    • Is the tag firmly attached to the windshield of the vehicle?
    • Has the tag synced to the app?
    • Did your phone's battery usage setting put the app to sleep? Check that app battery usage is set to Unrestricted.

    Other issues that may prevent trips from being logged:

    • Low phone battery
    • Poor cell signal or sparse cell tower coverage
    • Short trips less than a mile. These trips are not long enough to be logged.
    • Trips may take up to 1 day to appear in the DriveEasy Pro app. Check back in the app after that time.

    If the app still isn't logging a trip after 1 to 2 days, call service at 1-866-509-9444. All drivers must ensure that the DriveEasy Pro app is gathering trip information.

  • How much does the app and tag cost?

    There is no additional cost to your policy to participate. You just need to enroll, follow the simple setup instructions, and enjoy the benefits!

  • How will the app and tag data be used?

    The data collected through the DriveEasy Pro App + Tag program will be used to provide you with safe driving tips and will be used to provide you with a personalized rate at renewal.

  • Does GEICO share my app and tag data?

    No, GEICO does not share your app and tag data. Respecting your privacy is an important part of our commitment to providing an excellent service and product. Your personal information and individually collected data is confidential and will not be shared with third parties.

  • What is DriveEasy Pro Dashcam?

    DriveEasy Pro Dashcam is GEICO's safe driving program designed for small businesses. The program equips drivers with a road-facing dashcam at no cost* for each qualified, covered vehicle. Safeguard your business with unique DriveEasy Pro Dashcam features:

  • How much does the dashcam cost?

    There is no additional cost for the dashcam or to participate in the program. We'll ship the dashcam equipment to you at no charge. If the policy is canceled or a participating vehicle is removed, you'll be required to return the dashcam. Return shipping is free.

  • How does the dashcam work?

    After purchasing a DriveEasy Pro Dashcam policy, we'll ship your dashcam equipment along with installation instructions. The road-facing dashcam mounts to your windshield and connects to the JBUS port on your truck. After installation, the dashcam will connect with our services and begin to monitor for safety events while you drive. The dashcam does not record any cabin video or any audio. There is no app to download to participate in the DriveEasy Pro Dashcam program.

    Potential accidents and other important video clips may be saved to be used as evidence in the event of a claim and could help exonerate you. You'll also be alerted to potential incidents with real-time safety warnings. The driving data collected through the program may be used to provide you with a personalized rate at each renewal.

    All dashcams must be installed in the designated participating vehicles using the installation guide included with the equipment. All dashcams must remain operational while driving. Not all vehicles will necessarily have a dashcam. Generally, qualified vehicles are heavy trucks with a wide operating radius. Dashcam safety warnings are not a replacement for safe, attentive driving. Video recordings are not stored permanently. It is important to report claims immediately to ensure the best chance of using video recordings for evidence.

  • What data does the dashcam collect? Is the data shared?

    The road-facing dashcam monitors the road to collect and record videos of safety-related events while you drive. The dashcam does not record any cabin video or any audio. Potential accidents and other important video clips can be saved to be used as evidence in the event of a claim and could help exonerate you.

    All video recordings and related data that is collected is confidential and will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.

  • How do I set up the dashcam?

    Receiving Your Dashcam
    After purchasing a DriveEasy Pro Dashcam policy, we'll ship your dashcam equipment for each qualified covered vehicle within 3-5 business days. Dashcam equipment comes with a Dashcam Installation Guide in the box.

    The road-facing dashcam mounts to your windshield and connects to the JBUS port on your truck. After installation, the dashcam will connect with our services and begin to monitor for safety events while you drive. The dashcam does not record any cabin video or any audio. There is no app required to download to use the dashcam.

  • What if I cancel my policy? Do I keep the dashcam?

    If you cancel your policy, you will be required to return any dashcams and equipment. You will also be required to return any dashcam used with a participating vehicle if you remove that vehicle from your policy. We'll send you return instructions via email. Return shipping is free.

  • How do I return a dashcam?

    When you need to return a dashcam for whatever reason, we'll send you return instructions with a QR code via email. Bring the dashcam equipment and QR code to any UPS location. UPS will scan the QR code and take care of any packaging, labeling, and shipping. Return shipping is free.

  • Why isn't my dashcam working?

    When the dashcam is installed and the vehicle is turned on, the two LEDs on the cabin-facing side of the dashcam should light up.

    Dashcam Issues

    Camera LED:

    OFF
    No active power connection. Check that the JBUS to USB-C connection is secure and that the cabling is not damaged. If cabling is damaged or not sending power, contact us using the options listed below.

    BLUE blinking
    Firmware is updating. LED will change to RED a minute after the update is complete.

    Does not turn RED after firmware update is complete.
    Check that the SD card is installed. The SD card slot is located at the top of the camera near the USB-C connection port.

    • If the SD is installed, check that the JBUS to USB-C connection is secure and that the cabling is not damaged.
    • If there is no SD card installed, contact us using the options listed below.

    Network LED:

    BLUE solid
    Camera is connected to 4G but not connected to GEICO's servers. Continue to take trips to check if the LED changes to GREEN during a trip. As long as the camera can periodically connect to our servers during trips, you're all set. If you're unable to periodically connect to our servers, contact us using the options listed below.

    OFF
    No network connection. This could be due to limited cell tower coverage in your area. Continue to take trips to check if the LED changes to BLUE or GREEN during a trip. As long as the camera can periodically connect to our servers during trips, you're all set. If you're unable to periodically connect to our servers, contact us using the options listed below.

    Cables or mount plates are not compatible with your vehicle:
