  1. Van says

A llama? Why is an animal that is native to South America in a commercial about an explorer that explored Asia and not South America? Is the director and writer that uneducated or did they just assume that the American public is that ignorant?

    • Joe Schmidl says

You question the llama but ignore the fact Marky boy never cam close to N America

      I will let you slide

      Hillarious commercial!!

  2. D Hos says

What does the llama have to do with Marco Polo. He found trade routes from Europe to China in the late 1200s and early 1300s. South America and the llama was yet to be discovered.

  3. Fredje says

The llama is a clear reference to Mark Phelps’ mother. Positioned next to the pool, always on camera and not contributing anything to the main events. Classic ma Phelps.

  4. Janel says

Who is the white haierd older actor in the older Geico commercials. He is now in the Leonard Hill lawer commercials. Yep.. I noticed.?

  5. Al says

Everything it’s ok in the commercial. But what in the world a llama had to do there. Marco Pole didn’t discover America. That was Christopher Columbus. Marco pole went to the China. Llamas are from Peru in south Ametica.

  6. Frank Williams says

What IS surprising is finding a llama – a South American camelid – associated with Marco Polo, a 13th century explorer famous for going to China. There’s no way their paths would ever have crossed. Too bad the marketing geniuses who came up with this commercial didn’t pay attention in school or at least do a bit of basic research into the history of they character they are making a joke of.

  7. Greg Baugher says

History FAIL!!! Marco Polo explored in Asia, but the commercial (near the end) shows a LLAMA, which is an animal from South America ! ! !
