GEICO Takes On New York Comic Con

There were a lot of superheroes flying around when GEICO visited the 2015 New York Comic Con (NYCC), and the Gecko was right there in the middle using his own superpowers to save people money on car insurance … and boat, RV, and renters … well, you get it.

This is GEICO’s third year exhibiting at NYCC. We had a 3D photo booth; which was rated as a top attraction last year, daily costume contests, pinball, karaoke, charging stations and lots of fun giveaways.

This year also marked the 10th anniversary for New York Comic Con. NYCC now rivals San Diego Comic Con as one of the largest comic conventions in the United States. Within a decade it has grown robustly, bringing in more than 160,000 attendees, fans and celebrities.

Now let’s put your superpowers to work on some Comic Con trivia!

By Sarah Stegall

Answers: 1-c (Fantastic Four was a dud compared to these others), 2-e (Wolverine first appeared in 1974), 3-b (The Lion King was released in 1994); Bonus: Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 on April 18, 1938. GEICO was established in 1936 by Leo and Lillian Goodwin. GEICO is older than Superman!

I just had to let you know how much I enjoy your commercials. My favorite of all time is George Washington crossing the Delaware. No matter how many times I see it I continue to laugh out loud. The actor does a magnificent job!!! Whoever creates your commercials has been a great investment for your company.
