Their Web Site

In attempting to remove one vehicle with a replacement I was sent into a labyrinth with each turn providing another dead end. Really! These folks can do better than this!

Worst site ever
By takhart on September 22, 2009 policyholder claim
Car model is an "LS" not a "SR" and there is no way I can fix it. Also the site will not allow merging future payments even when they are all due on the same date. I have three policies. Home, Car and umbrella. I can not get info on premiums for the Home or umbrella. The site took twenty minutes to log into. I had to change my password five times before I got in.

At first glance Geico appeared to be a good insurance firm. The forms were easy to complete, all was well. However days after the policy was put into effect, I was informed that I would have to pay an additional premium for someone that is not driving the car nor do they have access to the car. There is no option to exclude this driver. Decided to go with competitor and saved over 50%.
- Gender: FAge: 25-34
- Years insured with GEICO: Not insured with GEICO
- Pros: Easy form
- Cons: Too expensive, no savings at all

Status Changes
By hoss on May 01, 2009 policyholder claim
your system does not allow me to make the changes i need done as your system does not see the differences in things..i am trying to change the state on my daughters drivers license as geico cannot get it right...the state is Texas...not utah... also I need to find out why you are charging me so much for my motorcycle insurance as it went up over 200 dollars...this is so stupid for me to be charged this amount...especially when i have a great driving record and no accidents...omg...get it right folks...

New Customer
By dvetmcse on April 01, 2009 policyholder
On 31 March I got an auto insurance quote. It turned out to be a good deal so I chose to go with the insurance and paid my bill. I called my past insurance company and cancelled it effective today, 1 April because my new policy was effective at 1201AM on April 1. I tried to access my documents, (ie, my insurance cards for proof of insurance), and the website stated the docs. weren't available at that time and that they would be available soon. I thought it was OK because I had until the next morning before I had to drive again. I checked later that night and early the next morning and STILL they weren't available. I checked again before I drove and they STILL WEREN'T READY!!! I thought it may just take a little time this morning to get things updated, but I checked AGAIN after noontime and STILL NO DOCUMENTS!!!! All I've been able to do is write down my policy number just in case I'm stopped for anything. I NEED these cards to be legal and it either should automatically update so we can print them out right away or tell us that it's going to take a couple of days to make sure we can make arrangements. This is totally unacceptable and I ALREADY AM REGRETTING CHANGING TO YOU FOLKS!!! What the heck is going on?
- Gender: MAge: 45-54
- Years insured with GEICO: 1 year
- Pros: Good Benefits for the cost
- Cons: Can't get my documentation so I'm driving illegally

1. initial logging on. Tried to use less than 10 letters for password. No response when I hit (continue). no reject for to short, no response of any kind. First requirement of good interactive computing is there must be a visual or audio response. You failed. 2. After signing in I went to (drivers) selected both in turn & could only view. Instruction said I had three options, three were listed, only (viewed) responded, the other two would not. When continue chosen, no response again.

- Pros: none
- Cons: non functionional due to lack of response.

Policy Change
By NavySpouse on September 26, 2008 policyholder
I called to find out what what would be the best plan whiel my husband was deployed. We placed our vehicals into storage. I was told I would receive a credit on my bill. I only got the credit three weeks later after 4-5 nagging phone calls to find out if it had been done. After all was said and done yes I got my credit for the storage but my bill was raised too! Sorry not happy with that service. Too much trouble for someone who's spouse is overseas and taking care of a family on your own.
- Gender: FAge: 25-34
- Years insured with GEICO: 1 year
- Pros: Great offer to place a car in storage while husband is deployed saving money good idea.
- Cons: Not able to use the car.
