Can not compare
By DJL1 on July 24, 2009 policyholder
We chose GEICO for our umbrella policy because we were told that we should get it from our auto insurance company. We can not compare the insurance with any other company.

Need to sync up with auto
By MartyJ on July 23, 2009 policyholder claim
Here's the thing- everytime I adjust my auto policy, like adding a car, I have to contact the umbrella dept. to tell them that. Otherwise, the umbrella coverage doesn't match with my auto coverage. These policy changes should link to the umbrella policy to avoid coverage on vehicles I no longer own or policy gaps on newer vehicles. Being the same company, I don't see why this would be a problem to do.

Umbrella Insurance

I can't honestly say any good or bad comments as i have never had a claim. In theory, it's good for high income people or folks with valuable potential liabilities like property owners. The key question is always how fast and efficiently the insurance company pays out if a claim ever occurs. Also, the premiums seem to rise every year, so i don't know if they are competitive.

Disappointed
By CharlieDav on July 21, 2009 policyholder claim
I moved from Virginia to Pennsylvania and had been carrying 2 million coverage. The cost was unreasonably high after my move so I had to cut down to 1 million. This was disappointing.

I actually never yet had to use this insurance, but would expect the usual great service I have been getting from GEICO for 25 years.
