    Washington Rate Information

    Why is my rate changing?

Effective June 20, 2021 , the Washington Department of Insurance will issue a change that prohibits ALL insurance companies from using your credit information in setting rates for auto, boat, RV, homeowners and renters insurance policies. This has required us to make changes in the way policy premiums are calculated and, as a result, may raise your rates slightly.

How long will this change last?

This change will affect ALL insurance companies for up to 120 days. However, the change may become a longer term one. The Washington Department of Insurance has announced they will seek to keep this in effect for up to three years.

Is there anything I can do to decrease my rate?

Yes! At GEICO, we will continue to do what we can to ensure you're getting the best rate possible during this time. We are happy to review your policy, coverages, and discounts, as well as answer any questions you may have. Simply log into your policy online or through the GEICO Mobile app .

Thank you for your understanding, and for your continued trust in GEICO for all your insurance needs.

    We're help to help, 24/7.
