GEICO Launches New Company-wide Education Benefit

GEICO Strive eliminates upfront education costs and provides access to career and education counseling for all associates

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 26, 2022—GEICO announced a new education and growth benefit for its more than 40,000 associates.

Through GEICO Strive, associates gain access to more than 220 schools and education providers that offer unique benefits, tailored to GEICO associates, including:

  • Pre-paid tuition and fees, eliminating reimbursement
  • Master's degrees and certification programs
  • Personalized career guidance and education counseling
  • Partnerships with top colleges and universities nationwide
  • In-person, hybrid, and online classroom options
  • Exclusive tuition discounts and other savings

While these benefits are primarily for GEICO associates, some education partners extend discounts on select programs to immediate family members.

"GEICO is thrilled to launch this new benefit. We have always invested in associates' education and growth—we're now taking an already great benefit to a higher level," said Marouf Ahmed, Assistant Vice President, GEICO. "With increased starting salaries, our highly competitive benefits, streamlined hiring processes, and new hybrid work schedule, it's never been simpler to change careers and join the GEICO team."

GEICO recently rolled out a new hybrid work schedule which allows some associates to work three-to-five days per week from home once they complete orientation.

The company also increased starting salaries for many positions—including sales, service and claims—in many of its regions (Buffalo, N.Y., Dallas, Texas, Fredericksburg, Va., Indianapolis, Ind., Lakeland, Fla., Macon, Ga., San Diego, Calif., Tucson, Ariz., Virginia Beach, Va., and Woodbury, N.Y.).

"GEICO Strive is just another way we help associates grow and advance their career. GEICO provides associates with as much support as possible—from continuing education to flexible work schedules to opportunities to give back to our communities. At the same time, our training programs are second to none: new associates advance quickly and open spots for new candidates," said Ahmed.
